'Star Trek's' George Takei was in Texas to visit with fans

According to WFAA on Jan. 4, "Star Trek's" George Takei visited fans at the Madness Comics & Games store in Plano, Texas. He was also noted as one of the most "influential" personalities in social media.

Though Takei is well versed in having performed Spock's Vulcan salute, WFAA reporter Mike Castellucci also tutored him on some of the many local cultural aspects of Texas' hand signals such as "long horns" and "guns up" gestures.

Takei also mentioned with him delving into social media only three years ago, he had obtained over 5.5 million likes on Facebook and near 1 million Twitter followers. Takei was even astounded himself how much fans gravitated towards his many social media sites as well.

With also such a recognizable voice, Takei is also partaking in narrating at the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's "Sci-Fi Spectacular" event.
