ConCarolinas (June 3-5), the fastest growing Science Fiction/Fantasy literature and gaming convention in the Carolinas, welcomes Media Guests of Honor John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox of Star Trek Enterprise) and his wife, Bonita Friedericy (the General of NBC’s Chuck) along with Media Special Guests Conor McCullagh (Winner of SyFy Channel’s FaceOff competition), David H. Lawrence (Doyle, the Puppet Master of NBC’s Heroes), Emillie Ullerup of SyFy’s Sanctuary, Brinke Stevens (legendary starlet of the horror screen) and Addy Miller (from AMC’s The Walking Dead).
ConCarolinas will be held at the Charlotte Hilton University Place. The weekend promises scores of panels and events from a Ghostbusters Proton Pack Demostration to Vampires Suck!, a costume contest to a charity auction. The convention is hosting a Celebrity Cornhole match along with an American Red Cross Blood Drive. One lucky donor will win an exclusive Sideshow Collectibles figure. A Dealer’s Room and Artist Alley features everything from a convention t-shirt to the latest in steampunk fashions.
ConCarolinas believes in giving back to the community. Along with the American Red Cross Blood Drive, ConCarolinas will hold a charity auction to benefit the North Carolina Search and Rescue Dog Association. With the economy in its current state ConCarolinas is also proud to announce the return of Second Harvest Food Bank. Representatives will be at the convention all weekend taking donations and helping to raise awareness of hunger in the Greater Charlotte Area.
