Creation Entertaiment’s official “Star Trek” convention beams up into the San Francisco Bay Area on Nov. 8-10 at the San Francisco Airport Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, Calif. “Star Trek” conventions are the perfect opportunity for fans to dress up as their favorite characters from any of the numerous TV and movie incarnations in the “Star Trek” franchise. Attendees can also purchase costume parts and props in the vendors room.
Other than costuming for fun and prizes, this convention will be graced by celebrity appearances onstage and for autographs and photo ops. On Friday, John de Lancie (Q), Tim Russ (Tuvok) and Michael Aron (Jack London) will be on hand. Of interest to costumers on Friday is Suzie Plakson (K’Ehleyr) getting her makeup done by Klingon expert makeup artist John Paladin. Paladin will also transform one lucky fan into their alien of choice. Also on Friday, for Gold weekend ticket holders only, is the costume contest with a $200 prize to be awarded by Creation and Russ for Best Costume.
On Saturday, the one and only William Shatner (Captain Kirk) will be making an in-person appearance. Other celebrity guests on Saturday include Max Grodenchik (Rom) and Aron Eisenberg (Nog) from “Deep Space Nine” who will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the series onstage.
Sunday has more major guests including Jerry Ryan (7 of 9), Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi), Robert Beltran (Chakotay) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher).
Some advance tickets are still available online at: http://creationent.com/cal/st_sanfrancisco.html#tix. Online tickets will be taken off sale on Nov. 5 at 5:00 p.m. PST. At that time, tickets listed as available on the website can be purchased at the door. Autographs and photo ops are sold separately and may be purchased using the same link above.
