'Star Trek 2' sequel gets a first look at the Klingons in prequel comic book

According to io9 on Jan. 21, 2013, it had reported that IDW, a comic book publication, will include a storyline prequel to "Star Trek Into Darkness" which will display Klingons in battle uniforms.

The uniform of the Klingon depicted in on the IDW cover seems to strike a resemblance to the one similar to the original "Star Trek" series which starred William Shatner. The sash and all. Though, it shows an additional element, the helmet which is similar to what a knight would wear from medieval times. Considering Klingons are warriors, this would be appropriate and one might ascertain that the Klingon culture just might mirror the culture Earth once had long ago.

A closer look at the helmet seems to display similar characteristics of a Klingons actual forehead, one which can even draw a parallel to the similarities of the Predator character.

One might also wonder if Klingons had mounts for purposes of non-space travel of course.

Even more interesting, is a deleted scene from J.J. Abrams first Star Trek movie of said Klingons in battle gear interrogating Nero and his plans to get revenge on the Federation. The Klingons had figured with his knowledge on the future and the future technological advances of the Federation, that they could share in Nero's revenge.

As displayed in the final action sequences of the delete sequence, Nero was not willing to share.
