A star spangled ribbon flyer is a great little toy for kids. They can be in the spirit of the holiday and enjoy running around with ribbons. This craft is super simple and amazing for kids to show off their style. A parent will need to do most of the work, but the kids can suggest the colors and such. If you want it to be star spangled, the colors should be red, blue, and white.
Materials:
• Ribbon (red, blue, white)
• Wider Ribbon (solid color or a mix of red, blue and white)
• Hot Glue
• Paper Towel Roll (Empty)
To start you want to get your paper towel roll. Take the wider ribbon and wrap it around the roll, suggested to glue it down as you go. Children will most likely end up pulling the ribbon off if you don’t glue it down tight.
When the roll is covered you can take out the smaller ribbon. You will want to cut this into at least 36 inch pieces. You will need 2-4 pieces of each color. Turn your roll to where one opening is facing you, and then put a little hot glue on . Place the ribbon end to the glue and make sure it is covered. Repeat this until you are happy with the turn out.
As an extra you can add a few stars to the end.
