It’s been over a year now since a dog named Star was shot point blank in her head by an NYPD officer. The video of her shooting went viral, and she became famous. Her fans were amazed to find out she had survived the gunshot, and have followed her story from the beginning. Star fans have cried many tears, and she has received many wishes and prayers from those fans. It is because of all that support Star will have a very merry Christmas, this year.

Fate is a funny thing; just ask the Cifarelli family, Charlie, Jenn, and their daughter Lauryn. They lived over a thousand miles from where Star was shot, and Charlie was one of those fans. Just like the thousands of people that viewed the video the day of her shooting, he was shocked from what he had just witnessed, and cried for her. The family never knew that one day she would become a member of their family. And Star never knew that one day, she would no longer have to live on the streets of New York, and she would have a family, and a home, she could call her own.

You see, because of fate, Charlie, with some help, founded the Facebook page, Star - The New York Pit Bull Shot by Police. Without the tireless work he, and his wife Jenn put into assuring Star’s safety, her story may have turned out very differently.

Instead this holiday season, Star, got to visit Santa Claus; she gets to go to her favorite Starbucks café; she gets to run and play with her sister Sadie, brother Petey, and her human child Lauryn. She will get to climb up in Charlie’s lap as he sits in his favorite recliner, and she will turn over on her back for her daily tummy rubs. And after each new adventure she now experiences every day, she now gets tucked into her own bed, with her blanket being pulled up over her ear… just so… And as Star is resting this Christmas Eve, she will have visions of her favorite fast-food restaurants glistening in her head… And just maybe… she will hear… the faint little footsteps of Santa’s reindeer!

Star, and the Cifarelli family, wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
