Star of 'One Day at a Time' dies

Actress Bonnie Franklin, who played a divorced mom on the long-running TV sitcom "One Day at a Time," died Friday. She was 69.

The red-headed star, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September of last year, died due to complications from the disease, according to family members.

She played a divorced single mother with two teenage daughters on the hit series, "One Day at a Time", which premiered in 1975 on CBS and ran for nine seasons. Co-stars Valeria Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips played her daughters.

In addition to stage and TV credits prior to “One Day at a Time”, Franklin recently appeared on "The Young and the Restless", as well as "Hot in Cleveland", a comedy on TV Land that reunited her with Bertinelli, who is a regular on the show.
