Before ‘Mike & Molly’ Billy Gardell was no stranger to comedy having been in standup since a young age. Gardell’s comedic roots started at Bonkerz comedy club where he was working; on a dare from some of his co-workers to do an open mic night. Gardell explains "If I didn't do an open mic night, I couldn't cover the bet. I was running my mouth that I would do it. They bet me I wouldn't" this would lead to Gardell being a regular and eventually having the opportunity open for Dennis Miller and George Carlin.
Gardell has made multiple television and cinema appearances since then; including a comedy special on Showtime Networks titled ’Billy Gardell Presents Road Dogs: Las Vegas’, as well being a part of Clint Eastwood’s upcoming adaptation of ‘Jersey Boys,’ slated for release in theatres June 2014.
In addition, ‘Mike & Molly’ is in its fourth season on the CBS television network where Gardell stars opposite Melissa McCarthy.
Gardell will perform Saturday January 25 at Northern Lights Casino in Walker Minnesota at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.northernlightscasino.com.
