According to an ESPN June 9 report, all the pressure will be on the New York Rangers to try and get on the board as the series shifts to the Big Apple down 0-2 to the Los Angeles Kings. As expected, the depth that the two-time defending Conference champs possess has presented some serious challenges for the Rangers, who face their first must-win scenario of the series.

“There’s no doubt that’s a plus for us,” N.Y. forward Brian Boyle said of returning to MSG for Games 3 and 4. “We had two hard-fought battles there in L.A. and didn’t get the result. It’s nice to come back in this barn and keep pushing and try to get the win.”

As a June 9 AP Sports report indicates, the Kings protected home-ice despite the fact that they did not lead at any point through the first six regulation periods versus the Rangers. In fact, contrasting starts has been the theme in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, with N.Y. taking the early lead, but with L.A. closing the show in style.

Thus, the Rangers were outshot 20-3 in the third period of Game 1, and were outscored 2-0 in the final regulation of Game 2. As far as tonight’s Game 3 is concerned, NHL Stanley Cup Finals 2014 oddsmakers list the N.Y. Rangers [-144] as money-line favorites versus the L.A. Kings [+131], while the OVER/UNDER is accumulated at a total of 5 goals.

In addition to Game 3’s lines and O/U, hockey oddsmakers also assembled the following goal-spreads for this pivotal matchup: Kings +½ [-240] vs. Rangers -½ [+200].
