Stanford well represented at NFL Combine

Stanford will be well represented at the NFL combine this year. Six members of the Stanford Cardinal will be in Indianapolis to show off their skills for their potential future employers.

Quarterback Andrew Luck, guard David DeCastro, tackle Jonathan Martin, tight end Coby Fleener, safety Delano Howell and wide receiver Chris Owusu have all received invitations to the NFL Combine which will be held from February 22nd thru the 28th.

It is unknown which player will go through how many drills. The projected top picks in the draft often do not participate in all the events at the combine. Luck is everyone’s favorite player to be selected first in the draft by the home town Indianapolis Colts.

Martin and DeCastro are both expected to join Luck in the first round of the draft.

Owusu remains a question mark due to his history of concussions. After suffering three concussions his last two seasons, his future seemed unclear to outside observers. But Owusu was cleared to play football again and has been working out in preparation for the NFL.

The two most notable names not invited from Stanford would be safety Michael Thomas and defensive lineman Matt Masifilo.
