The above event was held in Marriott Chicago Midway Hotel on South Cicero Avenue. It is one of the myriad events that CUFI (Christians United for Israel) sponsors and organizes across the US. Pastor Michael Stevens, CUFI African-American Outreach Coordinator, was the guest speaker. Some of the Chicago people that helped organize the event were Pastor Corey Person of Jesse's House of Global Prayer School & Ministry, Arrerk Stewart - Deacon/Prophet of Jesse's House of Global Prayer School & Ministry, and Elder Rodnisha Anderson.

On top of the sumptuous Kosher lunch provided free to invited guests including this writer, two books were given away as gifts. In Defense of Israel by best-selling author John Hagee, and Standing With Israel by David Brog. These books eloquently articulate "a passionate and personal testament to the ever-growing support and affection that many Christians have for the State of Israel", according to His Excellency Daniel Ayalon, Ambassador of Israel to the United States. The books brilliantly capture the spirit of brotherhood between the Jewish people and American Christians.

What is Christians United for Israel? From a brochure provided at the gathering::

"Christians United For Israel (CUFI) is a national association of pro-Israel churches, para-Church organizations, ministries and individuals across America who have chosen to speak and act with one voice in support of Israel in matters related to Biblical issues."

Here's an appeal that Pastor Stevens expressed in his message:

CUFI has grown so large so quickly because of people like you - our committed CUFI members. Your devotion and generosity are the bedrock upon which our influence has been built. Become a Congregational Representative. While your personal support is essential, we know that for every pro-Israel church that is actively participating in CUFI, we know that there are many more which are not. If you want to see your church do more for Israel through CUFI, then you can make it happen. We ask you to prayerfully consider applying to become a CUFI Congregational representative.
