With 3-D glasses worn by the entire audience at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards and at home, a little girl, Jasmine Alveran, appeared on the screen and then butterflies flew out from the TV. A beautiful eye-popping nature scene filled the screen with flowers, birds and foliage. Michael Jackson's Earth Song began as Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Usher walked on stage and performed along with Michael Jackson. The world experienced for the first time 3-D broadcasting at the Grammy Awards.

Through Earth Song, originally the centerpiece of the This Is It tour, Michael Jackson finally got to fulfill his dream tonight. He wanted to remind the world of its fragility and the rapid decay of nature by man's hand. Earth Song paints a picture of a world unpoisoned filled with beauty and purity that becomes corrupted, replaced by devastation and ruined. It is a wake up call that if we as a world cannot stand together and save our planet, there will be nothing left at the end.

In Michael Jackson's own words at the beginning of Earth Song, he says, "I respect the secrets and magic of nature. That's why it makes me so angry when I see these things that are happening you know. That every second I hear the size of a football field is torn down in the Amazon. I mean, that kind of stuff really bothers me. That's why I write these kind of songs. You know, to give some sense of awareness and awakening and hope to people. I love...I love the planet. I love trees. I have this thing for trees. And the colors and the changing of leaves. I loove it! And I respect those kinds of things."

Prince Michael and Paris' acceptance speech

Michael Jackson's message is and always has been about love for everyone. Earth Song is his last gift to us. In the words of two of his three children, as they spoke on stage accepting their father's Lifetime Achievement Award, Prince Michael said, "We're proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson. First of all we'd like to thank God for watching over us for these past seven months and our Grandma and Grandpa for their love and support. We'd also like to thank the fans. Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him. Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped through many charities and donated to all of them. Through all his songs, his message was simple, LOVE. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you." Paris touched our hearts when she said, "Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was gonna perform this year, but he couldn't perform last year. Thank you. We love you Daddy."
