A Massachusetts man is under arrest following the gunpoint kidnapping of a Manchester woman last night and an overnight standoff with police that occurred at the Motel 6, at 2 Progress Avenue, in Nashua, NH, according to sources.
A Manchester Police press release stated that Stanislav Osherov, age 22, of 264 Grove Street, #4, Newton, Massachusetts is charged with the class A felony, Domestic Violence - Kidnapping.
Police said the incident began in Manchester on Monday at approximately 10:30 p.m. and ended at approximately 7:20 a.m. today in Nashua when Osherov surrendered and the Nashua Police Special Reaction team took him into custody.
NashuaPatch.com reported the incident began when Osherov abducted his girlfriend at gunpoint in Manchester and took her to the Motel 6 in Nashua. The incident ended peacefully and without any injuries, sources said.
Nashua Patch stated that some guests were evacuated from their rooms at the motel, just off Exit 5 on the Everett Turnpike. WMUR is reporting that a heavy police presence was visible at the motel and that police, in the early hours were reportedly in contact with the abductor, according to Nashua Patch.
Nashua police confirmed Tuesday morning that businesses located around the Motel 6 on Progress Avenue would not be open until the situation was cleared, Nashua Patch stated.
Police said Osherov is being held on $500,000 cash only bail, pending his arraignment in 9th Circuit-Nashua District Division Court on January 29, 2014.
The Manchester Police Department, Domestic Violence Unit is working jointly with the Nashua Police Department Investigative Division to determine if additional charges are warranted, sources said. The victim’s name will not be released due to the nature of the current investigative work that has yet to be completed, police said.
