The long awaited documentary on Stan Romanek's extraterrestrial contact will premiere in November. A press release by Jack Roth in j3FILMS stated, "extraordinary: the Stan Romanek story -- has been named an official selection of the 2013 Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF). The premiere is set for Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. at the festival’s showcase theatre - Cinema Paradiso - located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale."
Romanek is the Denver native whose "alien in the window" video made international headlines in 2008. A story from the May 30, 2008 press conference at Auraria Campus in Denver set new page-view records at denverpost.com. It was one of the top stories on the Internet and appeared on hundreds of thousands of web pages in over twenty-four languages.
The evidence of Romanek's case was so compelling that it helped inspire the campaign to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission through a ballot initiative in Denver. In November, 2010, over 31,100 Denver residents voted in favor of the proposed commission.
The campaign brought out the worst in some Denver city officials. In a complaint to the Denver Ethics Commission, the Denver budget manager was accused of falsifying an excessively high estimate of the cost to taxpayers if the measure would have passed. The budget manager refused to allow access to his e-mails that were exchanged with opponents of the measure.
The Ethics Commission ultimately determined that it had no authority to investigate the accusations despite the overwhelming evidence of misconduct by the budget director. Several city council members also made embarrassing comments about the ballot measure while pretending to have some knowledge of the issue being considered by the voters.
According to the press release, "Romanek claims to be at the center of world's most documented extraterrestrial contact story, and the multitude of evidence accumulated over the past decade has convinced thousands around the world his story is true." Romanek's story has never been successfully debunked or proven a hoax, even by the most obsessed skeptics.
