According to Cinema Blend on Sunday, James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" seems to be taking on Stan Lee as an additional cast member in yet another cameo appearance. At the 2014 C2E2 convention, Lee was answering questions from fans at a panel. He mentioned he didn't exactly know what the cameo was about, but he does know he was in the companionship of a "very pretty girl".
Lee has made numerous appearances in several Marvel movie films with the exception of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "The Wolverine". Apparently, he is known to appear in only the movies from his comic book creations. But, rules were bent in certain situations depending on how connected he was to the Marvel films. For instance, though he did do cameos in both "Captain America" films, he didn't create the character. Lee did revive Steve Rogers and was also responsible for having the character throw his shield as away to take out enemies from afar.
Lee stated when asked about appearing as a cameo in the film, he said, "I did already. I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you".
Though Lee didn't create the "Guardians of the Galaxy", he did create the Groot character as well as The Collector and Ronan the Accuser. In the YouTube channel of DweebCast, Lee mentioned he didn't even write about the group nor even knew who they were.
So one may wonder if the "pretty girl" he mentioned may be alien, or perhaps Lee will be dressed up alien attire. One may think him to be a space pilot like Star Lord just sitting around the planetary pub drinking some suds and enjoying the local culture.
For those interested in knowing what "Guardians of the Galaxy" is all about, it's a film directed by James Gunn. He also has four brothers, one of which is Patrick Gunn who is responsible for heading off the company that distributed the "The Blair Witch Project". Brian and Mark Gunn work together in a partnership to write MTV's "2gether". Finally, Sean Gunn is a regular actor known for his role in "Angel".
"Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in theaters on Aug. 1.
