Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may meet their maker, as Stan Lee will guest star in an upcoming episode on the freshman series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lee, who also executive produced Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has made cameo appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that includes the Spider-Man and Iron Man trilogies, Daredevil, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Avengers, where the battle of New York took place between "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" and Thor's malevolent half-brother Loki: unleashing a world of superheroes, aliens, and otherworldly planets.

That led to the creation of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., where an elite team of agents led by the newly resurrected Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) investigates the strange and unusual around the world.

Lee is also the creator of several Marvel superheroes such as the X-Men, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, the Fantastic Four, and so forth.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
