According to the Calgary Stampeders website, the Calgary Stampeders traded defensive back Chris Randle to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Tuesday.

In the deal, the Stampeders acquired the Blue Bombers' third round pick, 24th overall in the Canadian Football League Draft and the Blue Bombers receive the Stampeders' third round pick 26th overall in the Canadian Football League Draft.

Randle played the last two seasons with the Stampeders and was set to become an unrestricted free agent before being traded to Calgary's new Western Division rival.

In 2013, Randle who is a product of Utah State, had 34 tackles, a sack, and four interceptions (with one for a touchdown). Randle also had 35 tackles and an interception in 2012.

The Blue Bombers are trying to rebound from a devastating season where they were 3-15 last year. One area where they clearly needed to improve was their defense where they gave up a league worst 585 points.
