Stampeders acquire Charbonneau-Campeau from Tiger-Cats

According to the Canadian Press on Monday, the Calgary Stampeders have acquired wide receiver Simon Charbonneau-Campeau from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for wide receiver Spencer Armstrong.

Charbonneau-Campeau and Armstrong are both non-imports. Charbonneau-Campeau is a native of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, while Armstrong is a native of Toronto, Ontario.

Charbonneau-Campeau had nine catches for 115 yards in a limited role in Hamilton during his first two years in the Canadian Football League. Armstrong meanwhile played in one game for Calgary this past year.

Armstrong's background is unique because he played NCAA Football with the United States Air Force and was a second lieutenant. He had to finish his military service commitment before joining the Stampeders. Armstrong also has a rich military background because his father was part of the Canadian military.

In 2013 the Calgary Stampeders led the Canadian Football League with 549 points, while the Hamilton Tiger-Cats were sixth with 453 points. However, it was the Tiger-Cats who advanced to the Grey Cup before losing 45-23 to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
