The first regular season of the Bluegrass Stallions will come to a close tonight at Lexington Christian Academy's gym.

The Stallions will face the Kentucky Bison, who are the No. 2 ABA team in the latest standings.

In their eight meetings this season, the Stallions are 5-3 against the Bison.

This has become one of the Stallions' biggest rivals not only because both teams are in Kentucky, but also because the games have been extremely close.  Four of their meetings this year needed at least one overtime to decide who walked away victorious. One needed double overtime.

The Bison boast a strong roster featuring Mike James and Kenny Jones, who were both ABA All-Stars last year. Another familiar name is their leading scorer, Brandon Stockton.

Stockton, along with five Stallions, played under Tubby Smith at the University of Kentucky.

Add that fun fact to the checklist of why this rivalry just keeps growing.

In an effort to create a great atmosphere typical of a great rivalry, the Stallions have offered a promotion where two people can get into the game for the price of one. For $10, you and a friend can witness a battle of two top five teams in the ABA.

Win or lose, the Stallions have a had a great first season. The team from Lexington will boast a winning record, including multiple wins over some of the ABA's powerhouses like the Bison.

The Stallions' final home game of the regular season will start at 7:00 p.m.

Any word on who the other 5 ex-CATS are? This sounds pretty legit

I wish they had scheduled this game on a Non-Wildcat date. The Stallions and the ABA might want to try to take that into account when they make out next years schedule.

I totally agree, Rubezing! It seems so many of these games are scheduled on the same night UK games are. I'm not sure how much control they have over this, but it has to be killing their success.
