Stalkers paradise: Facebook Timeline

You didn't do anything wrong in your past, but some people just don't want to relive it.... with Timeline, it may send you reminders of your past.....

Like it or not, Facebook is forcing people to change over to Timeline by March 30th, so if you haven't cleaned out your virtual closet, you may want to start while you have an extra few hours!

Yes, hours or even days!

Some people may stand on their pedestals, especially teenagers who are defiant in their ways, and believe all those spring break photos of them in compromising shots are funny or think those slang comments are amusing; they may not seem so humorous to a potential college recruiter or an employer a few years from now.

For those that are in new relationships or marriages, do you remember what you wrote on your walls and what pictures you had to  your ex's, let's say back in 2006, 2007 etc? With a simple click on that year, it will all be there!  Not that it was bad or good, but why is it necessary to relive it or in some cases, have to explain it all?  It is over and in the past.

Another example is for those that had strong opinions on a topic, let's say back in 2008.  Now your views have changed.  They are on the other side of the fence - yet with one click on to 2008 into the October month, they can see where you were vocal about a subject you are passionate about and now you feel you can't be friends with this person.

Again, people can change - views can change - but the Internet never forgets - and Timeline will make sure your friends will always remember!

Facebook has made your past a simple click away so anyone can click on the year then the month and see exactly what you were doing, who you were with and how you were doing it.

Many know that privacy has become literally a term that has almost zero meaning, but this new format is troubling to many people.  Though there are many that love the new look, it is clear many are hoping this change doesn't really happen.

This is not about saying what we believe in was right or wrong.  It is about being human.  We are not machine, we do make mistakes in life and most of us learn from our mistakes.

These are a few examples of why you really need to take your time and decide what you want to keep on your Timeline and what you feel needs to be removed (deleted or hidden).  It is quite easy to do, yet very time consuming.

It is time to get started, since the change is coming.  Please, remind your teenagers too.  Especially if they are going to be applying for colleges in the next year or two.
