If you have a struggling reader, you may want to check out this wonderful free program, Stairway to Reading.
Created by Society For Quality Education (SQE), the program was developed for students of any age who have already received some reading instruction but who are struggling. However, it can be used (with minor adaptations, which are given) for beginning readers.
The program begins with a 5 to 10 minute diagnostic test (unless you are using the program with a beginning reader). There are a total of nine downloads for the complete program, however only four of the nine are essential to the program:
- Introduction
- 40 Lessons
- Flashcards
- Reading Material
The remaining five downloads are provided to give extra practice and to help you stay organized. If you have previewed Stairway to Reading and would like to download it, go to: Available Downloads. You will find all nine downloads under the Stairway to Reading category.
