Stags Leap District announces 2013 annual Vineyard to Vintner Weekend (Photos)

The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association (SLDW) is currently selling tickets for its annual Stags Leap District Vineyard to Vintner (V2V), exclusive weekend scheduled for April 26-28, 2013. The three day event offers intimate vintner dinners and open houses where you will be able to enjoy quality wines from outstanding producers along delicious food prepare by recognized local chefs. Experience the best this world famous wine appellation has to offer.

The fun weekend starts on Friday evening with an exceptional food and wine experience. You can choose among four distinctive, multi-vintner hosted dinners at Chimney Rock Winery, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Pine Ridge Vineyards and Shafer Vineyards prepared by celebrated local chefs including: Richard Reddington, Cindy Pawlcyn and Peter Hall. A limited two-day dinner package that also includes a Saturday Open House pass is $375/person. A three-day dinner package includes Saturday offerings and also includes Sunday’s Fiesta Brunch and Tasting for $400/person.

Saturday’s Open-House event offer an extraordinary opportunity to visit all 19 member wineries from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., is $150/person. Stop an enjoy Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association wineries along a three mile section of Silverado Trail.

The weekend culminates with a District-wide, vintner-hosted Fiesta Brunch and Tasting at Silverado Vineyards from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for $60/person, catered by the Michelin-starred Meadowood Resort. Enjoy delicious bites to eat and enjoy the world’s most expensive Sangria, made from a blend of Stags Leap District Cabernets and be the first to taste a preview of the Association’s highly limited, the 2009 Appellation Collection (to be release on October 2013); truly a world exclusive.

The Stags Leap District includes about 2,700 acres, with approximately 1,200 planted, this wine region is known worldwide for its Cabernet Sauvignon, about 80% of the vines planted are Cabernet Sauvignon. "Benefiting from cool Pacific breezes, long, dry summer days and unique volcanic soils with overlays of bale loam", this wine producing district is recognize worldwide for their complex, flavorful and well structured wines.
