Stagebridge is America’s most established performing arts company for the over 50 crowd.

Come celebrate three and a half decades of life-transforming performance and education on May 8 in Oakland. The Stagebridge Gala will be held at Nile Hall (668 13th Street) in Preservation Park.

Enjoy jazz by Stafford & Sturdevant, the Antic Witties improv troupe and preview a never-before-seen musical. As an added distinction, Barefoot Wine has honored Stuart Kandell, Stagebridge founder for “giving older adults a creative voice through theatrical productions” for 2014 by Barefoot Wine.

In an interview with the Oakland Tribune, Executive Director Marge Betley recently enthused about Stagebridge’s numerous accomplishments:

“As life spans increase, seniors want to remain…engaged in meaningful pursuits…we sent teaching artists and elder storytellers to more than 40 Bay Area schools last year, and …logged hundreds of hours…[of] workshops, classes and performances at West Oakland Senior Center, Rossmoor and Satellite Housing.”

Fall 2014: In collaboration with Berkeley Rep, Stagebridge has commissioned and will create a world premiere musical as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Free Speech Movement in Berkeley.
