Stage Aurora Theatrical Company announces the audition for its upcoming production of The Me Nobody Knows on Saturday, February 23; Sunday, February 24; and Saturday, March 2 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Stage Aurora Performance Hall located inside the Gateway Town Center. The production will run April 2013.
Stage Aurora is looking for a cast that will consist of 12 multi-ethnic strong vocal youths with acting and/or dancing experience, ranging in age from 7-19. Adults 20+ are also needed. Please be prepared to sing a song that shows vocal range, perform a monologue or read from the script, and bring a headshot/résumé. A cast of 25 people are needed.
The Me Nobody Knows is a musical with music by Gary William Friedman and lyrics by Will Holt. It debuted off-Broadway in 1970 and then transferred to Broadway, making it one of the earliest rock musicals to play on Broadway, and the first Broadway hit to give voice to the sentiments of inner-city American youth. It received the “Obie Award” and the “Drama Desk Award” for Best New Musical, and Five Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The adaptation by director Robert H. Livingston and additional lyricist by Herb Schapiro was inspired by the anthologized writings of nearly 200 New York City students, aged 7 through 18. To guarantee uplift, samples from the students' work were interwoven with a ground-breaking score that combines pop, rock music, classical fugues, rap and jazz.
Rehearsal will begin during the second week of March and run Monday – Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays.

Sunday, February 24 3:00 pm. -5:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 2 3:00 pm. -5:00 p.m.
