Breckenridge has been a town on every Pro Challenge race so far, and it’s no surprise. The historic mining town nestled in the Rocky Mountains is a stage cycling distance from the Front Range. For stage 5, the course offers just that – a start at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Woodland Park followed by a long steady climb. Total elevation gain is 2989 feet, cresting at the 11,539 foot Hoosier Pass.

However, for fun the course architects decided to toss in one climb just a few miles before the Breckenridge finish line. A circular detour up Moonstone Road leads the cyclists to the second King of the Mountain on Boreas Pass Road. Following this climb is a short and fast downhill to the Finish Line on Main Street in Breckenridge.
