Jicama is not even two years of age yet, but her life is almost over.
This sweet-natured Chihuahua is currently housed at the South Los Angeles, Calif., Animal Care and Control where she is in grave danger of being put down - in fact, the official word is that Jicama must be out by Sunday, Feb. 17.
Jicama has all all of the qualities that a potential adopter would be looking for...she is adorable, young, cuddly and loving.
In fact, the medical staff at the facility adore Jicama, who has enchanted them with her endearing personality.

Jicama has likely been passed over because she has a troublesome hip that causes her to occasionally hop. According to the shelter volunteer, Jicama has a luxated hip joint which requires a veterinary evaluation.
Sadly, this friendly, enchanting dog may lose her entire life over that troublesome hip, unless someone sees her face and decides that hers is a life worth saving.
Please take a moment to network for Jicama...her current lifespan is down to mere days.

Additional information as of 2/15/13: Shelter advocate working to help Jicama has just informed me that there are several hundred dollars in pledged funds for Jicama's veterinary expenses. These funds are available to a qualified rescue who commits to Jicama. Please E-mail pd53@sbcglobal.net, prior to pulling Jicama, to see if your rescue organization is approved to take Jicama and receive the funds. Thank you.
