Today Carlos Mena, the promoter for Prestige Fights, announced several feature fights for Bayou Brawl 4 which will be held at the Alario Center on August 13th, 2011 at 8PM. The promotion, which is known for featuring outstanding professoinal and amateur matchups, also released its latest commercial and linked it to a 2D bar code which allows users to link directly to the youtube link on the internet. "We are trying to find new ways of reaching fans and letting them know about our fights," said Mena. "With most of our target audience now having smart phones, we felt that a 2D image linked to a commercial was the way to go. This allows users to get a fuller and richer information stream than just a regular flyer, poster, or car door manget." The video features Ultimate Fighter season 13 contestent Charlie Rader and Houma's Lanny Dardar who will face each other as the main event August 13th for Prestige Fights' welterweight championship,
The main card for Prestige Fights Bayou Brawl 4 is:
Pros
Charlie "Superstar" Rader vs. Lanny Dardar welterweight championship (170 pounds)
Austin Lyons vs. Dan Loman lightweight championship and finals of four man tournament (155 pounds)
Eric "the Genetic Freak" Thompson vs. Robert Agee at 175 pounds
Adrian Mcgee vs. Pat Sidell at 125 pounds
Amateur Championship
Brock Chiasson vs. Randy Landy at 185 pounds
When asked about whether or not the high level professionals being put on the card being was too much of an expense for a local outfit promoter Mena said, "people are going to come to promotions that put on the best shows and the best fights. If that means that MMA stars are going to cost a lot of money, then it means that we have to do a great job of promoting the fight to make sure that we can keep on investing in the sport. Every fan will have a seat at this fight, I recently went to a fight at a local Casino where I stood behind twenty rows of people in a room staring at a screen for $35. We want to spend the money making sure that fans can see the actual fights not a television and we cut our prices to $30 for reserved seating."
Mena said other amateur fights would be announced in the coming days. Mena also added that as part of promoting the fight, with the UFC headed to town for September, that Prestige Fights will be giving away tickets to the UFC fight in September in New Orleans at the Prestige Fights event.
