Any busy woman knows that sometimes there simply isn't enough hours in the day. Stacie McCall Harris, a former college athlete, a current sports mom and wife to 12 year NFL Veteran Corey Harris, knows all too well about being a balancing act. From managing her son’s former Hollywood career to guiding her two daughters into their purpose, Harris not only works to maintain an inspiring home environment, but she also recognizes the time that women need for their own self as well. Harris believes that by staying on the path of spiritual and physical well –being that people will be at their ultimate best for both themselves and others, and that their hopes and goals can be carried out in the process.
Harris’ work ethic, drive, and life experiences led her to a penning a book positively influential book entitled, “I’M- POSSIBLE.” This inspiring read provides “31 days of daily inspiration, transforming the total you through spiritual, physical, and life application.”
In an exclusive interview, Harris not only shared her inspiration behind the book, but also the prayerful process that brought her dream to completion
“I always wanted to be a writer, and I always wanted to inspire others – especially women. I wanted to do something that would be inspiring and empowering. I knew the book had to represent that and be transparent,” shared Harris.
The newly published author also recognizes how her past has played into her current endeavors.
“Athletes are structured – they’re organized. They have a playbook, and everything is structured. I wanted to also tie in fitness, and make this a total, mind, body, and soul book,” she said.
“I fasted, and I prayed a lot about what I wanted to write. I worked to make this very universal. I wanted everyone to be able to relate, so I made it simple and structured,” she added.
McCall’s structured book which consists of daily devotions and questions afterwards, focuses on consistency, building on life applications, and working to live the healthiest life possible. Readers can also purchase her journal so that they may follow along, and put their thoughts into writing. If the book is ordered from her website (www.staciemccallharris.com), the journal is included).
“I see this as being a 31 day game changer. With it being a new year, I think we can start a new regime that we can get on track with. Consistency is what makes us successful. I believe if you do something towards your goal each day, you will get there,” she said.
Harris, who shot with an amazing 93% average from the free throw line during her time at The University of Michigan, used an appropriate example of reaching goals through consistency, “I shot free throws every day.”
When it comes to balancing all of her ventures, Harris shared, “I’m just learning how to do that. I got my son where he needed to be, and I now see the big picture. I fit in prayer, and I fit in working out. I stick with structure, and write down weekly goals. When I’m on track – I’m happy, and everyone else is happy. You’ve got to love yourself enough to know that you’re worthy of working on you.”
As one might expect, Harris encourages positive thinking and faithful prayer when it comes to staying on track, and pursuing goals.
“Every day, be expecting something. Know that something can change or empower you – just keep expecting it,” she advised.
Harris acknowledges that we all can get a little conflicted or feel uncertain about our future. Oftentimes, our life paths aren’t always exactly crystal clear.
If you are feeling uncertain of where you should go next, Harris suggests, “Keep it simple. Always think about what you have been successful at in the past. Pull from what you know you’re good at. Sometimes we’ve got to jump over the hurdles before us and go back to our roots.”
As a former point guard, Harris had to learn to step into the role of a leader and an encourager as a young fourth grader. Now, as an author, she is continuing to follow that same purpose. With her 1 Hot Mom Series, she is encouraging others to embrace their God-given gifts.
“I definitely want to travel and speak. As an NFL wife, I’d really like to talk to other wives in that same position,” she revealed.
Harris wants to remind these women that while they’re being there for their husbands, they too matter, and what they say and do is important as well. Through her new book, different bookings, her purpose parties (how cool is that?), affirmation cards, and speaking engagements, she is happily lighting up the lives of women everywhere.
