St. Pius-X parishioners give generously to enhance the lives of the poor

St. Pius-X parishioners gave generously to their 2009 annual Advent Giving Tree. Over 750 packages were collected as well as thousands of dollars in monetary donations and gift cards.

December's coffee and donut held after all masses last Sunday was called "Everything Sunday." The  Religious Education Coat Drive collection was a huge success as well! Collected were 40 Men’s Coats, 52 Women’s Coats, 59 Youth Coats, 41 New Hats, 35 New Scarves, 52 New Gloves/Mittens, 4 Youth Snow Pants, 12 Sweaters, 7 PJ’s, 4 Men’s Dress Shirts.

The clients of the Child Development Center/Middletown Community Renewal Team will all have a much warmer winter ahead!

A poinsettia sale was organized and run by Mrs. Karen Sambor and her daughter Keleigh. During the sale numerous peer ministers and adults helped out receiving and organizing the plants, attending the tables in the church foyer and at the "Everything Sunday" event.

Much thanks to Country Flower Farms who discounted our costs. All in all, it was a very successful sale with a total of $673 raised to support the Peer Ministry's Middletown community involvement. Click for a slide show at: Everything Sunday Religious Education Coat Drive & Poinsettia Sale!

Please remember, as the parishioners at St. Pius do, the true meaning of Christmas! And yes, Santa always remembers:
