St. Patrick's Day: 'Tipsy Tow' offered by AAA

Once again, AAA is offering “Tipsy Tow” for those who have been drinking in hopes of keeping the roads on St. Patrick Day. According to a March 15 report by the Edmond Sun, several cities in Oklahoma will have free rides for those need a safe ride home.

AAA Oklahoma will provide a free ride home for both the drinker and their car. This is in hopes of keeping drunk driving to a minimum. This service is available to both AAA members and non-members any time between noon on Sunday, St. Patrick's Day, and 4 a.m. Monday morning. Anyone needing to get home and get their car home will be able to do so as long as their destination is within a 15-mile radius of the point of pickup.

“I love this idea,” Lynn Thatcher, from Oklahoma City, said. “I knew there were free cabs on New Year's Eve, but I didn't know something like this was available on St. Patrick's Day.”

“Tipsy Tow” is available all over the Sooner State. Tahlequa, Muskogee, Enid, Ardmore, Tulsa, Shawnee, Lawton, Bartlesville and Oklahoma City will have “Tipsy Tow” operating.

Anyone needing a ride from “Tipsy Tow” should call 1-800-222-4357. There will be no questions asked and a safe ride will be given to anyone within the 15-mile radius who need it.
