St. Patrick's Day offers wait staff opportunity to make more money

St. Patrick's Day is a perfect opportunity to have a party. It is a day when everyone is Irish.

But for those in the restaurant industry, St. Patrick's Day is an opportunity to make more money.

Allison Brock said she earns two to three times her regular take in tips at the sports bar where she works in Miami on St. Patrick's Day. "I love it. I make a lot of money on St. Patrick's Day. People really want to party. They drink and they spend more money than usual," said Brock.

Brandy Holmes said she does very well on St. Patrick's Day. She tends bar at restaurant in Miami. "I wish we had more St. Patrick's Day events. I made a lot of money on St. Patrick's Day. People were coming in drinking and spending money. And they left good tips," said Holmes.

Sara Jacobson said she earned more money on St. Patrick's Day than on most other days. She tends a bar in North Miami. "I made three times as much as I usually do today. People were in a good mood and they tipped well," said Jacobson.
