St. Olaf Choir to perform tonight at the Music Center at Strathmore

The famed St.Olaf Choir will be presented in concert tonight, Monday, February  6, 7:30 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore.  Conducted by Dr. Anton Armstrong, the choir will appear in the D.C. area as a part of their national concert tour, celebrating its centennial.  "When we tour, we always try to feature music or arrangers of the regions we pass through."  Armstrong said in a previous press release.

Dr. Anton Armstrong is the Tosdal Professor of Music at St. Olaf College and the fourth director of the choir since 1990.  Admired for his work in the field of choral music, Armstrong is in demand as a clinician, conductor and adjudicator, nationally and internationally.

On the program are works by Palestrina, Mendelssohn, Bach, Gretchmaninoff, Christiansen, among others.  This presentation is made possible by the Lutheran Volunteer Corps.
