Whether your child is still very little or you have an older child who resists brushing teeth or struggles with doing it well, Dinosaur Doings at the St. Louis Science Center can help your child get into healthy dental habits while he or she is still young - and make it fun at the same time. With lovable characters such as Smilosaurus, the Tooth Fairy, Magical Dragon, Ted E. Bear and the Delta Dental Panda Bear, your kids will suddenly have a whole group of new friends to encourage good oral hygiene.
During Dinosaur Doings, kids will learn how to take care of their teeth through lots of fun and interactive activities. The Delta Dental team's Dental Health Theatre will be on hand to perform their "Land of Smiles" show. Kids can participate in carnival games, face painting, a cake walk and lots of interesting games. They'll have lots of laughs trying to guess how many bristles are on the giant toothbrush, so they can win a prize, and they'll get a kick out of being able to bring in their old toothbrush in exchange for a brand new one.
Kids will be so busy having fun that they'll forget they are actually learning something, but in fact there will also be a tooth brushing and flossing demonstration as well as educational movies to watch.
By the time your kids go home, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, who is sponsoring the event, hopes to have your kids so excited about brushing that they'll have excellent reports at their next dental checkup. Starting good dental health habits at a young age can help children grow into adults with healthy, confident smiles and better overall self esteem.
February is National Children's Dental Health Month, so please join the St. Louis Science Center for Dinosaur Doings to help celebrate. This free event takes place on Saturday, February 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Science Center.
