St. Louis parent forced to attend school with 10 year-old son

Veronica Williams, the parent of a student who attends Barack Obama Elementary school in St. Louis, Mo has been made to attend school with her fourth grade son. She attempted and eventually she was unable to adhere to the administrators demands because of work.

Williams told hiphopwired.com, "it's ridiculous. I did it for two weeks. They told me if an adult don't come and sit with him, he cannot come to school. " She says that the first day he was not supervised by a family member, he was suspended.

Parents who are dissatisfied with Normandy will soon have additional educational choices. Recently, charters schools were expanded to Missouri counties of school districts which are unaccreditted. As of January 1, 2013, Normandy is unaccreditted whereas before they were provisionally accreditted.

Fox News in St. Louis has reported that Normandy's Chief Administrative Officer, Phillip Boyd, released the following statement:

"We are committed to providing students with the most productive and safe learning environment possible. We have the responsibility to ensure that the entire learning community is safe for all parties and not disrupted."

Contrary, Ms Williams has insisted that her son only has discipline problems at school.
