This weekend at the movies, you can return to the “Star Wars” saga or take a journey to a mysterious island (all in 3D), celebrate Valentine’s Day early with the romance movie “The Vow”, and experience the thriller “Safe House”.  Those movies and more are opening in theaters across St. Louis this Friday.  Read more about them below.

Journey 2: the Mysterious Island”:  Directed by Brad Peyton, this sequel to 2008’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” sees the return of Josh Hutcherson as Sean Anderson, a teenager who embarks on a journey with his mom’s boyfriend Hank (Dwayne Johnson) to search for his grandfather (Michael Caine), who went missing searching for a mythical island.  Available for viewing in 3D.  Runtime: 94 minutes.  Rated PG for some adventure action, and brief mild language.
