The MLB playoffs 2013 live stream and televised coverage for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series arrives on Monday, Oct. 14. In this crucial game for Los Angeles, the Dodgers will try to find a way to solve their puzzle of being unable to hit against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals now lead the series 2 games to 0, and will have ace pitcher Adam Wainright on the mound. The latest MLB live streaming and televised playoff game comes via TBS and the MLB website for viewers.
An MLB.com article from Oct. 14 reports that the Dodgers may have some key injuries which will affect them in this latest meeting. Of note, Hanley Ramirez is suffering a bruised ribs injury after being hit by a pitch earlier in this series. He was scheduled for CT scan for the injury yesterday, so it's unknown if he'll be able to play. Additionally, Andre Ethier is a question mark as the center fielder has a lower left leg microfracture he's been dealing with the past month. That could be good news for Adam Wainright, as Ethier has been the most successful Dodgers' hitter against him over the course of his career.
Speaking of getting hits, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly discussed exactly what his team needs to do to turn this series around in Los Angeles:
"It's a matter of us ... getting the outs when you need them and being able to get that key hit. This series, up to this point, we haven't gotten the key hit. We weren't able to put the run up when we needed it. If we get two key hits over the last two days, we win two. We're walking out of here up 2-0. It didn't happen, so we're walking out of here down two."
That may be tough to do tonight against Wainright, who brings a 19-9 overall record into tonight's game along with his 2.94 ERA and 219 strikeouts. Wainright had a start this past season against the Dodgers and lost. However, he's started a total of ten games in his career against the Dodgers and has a 4-4 record with a 3.10 ERA. Add to that the fact that Wainright won his last three starts in the posteason. He'll just seek to avoid Andre Ethier who has gone 10-for-33 during their career meetings, including three home runs.
On the other side for the home team will be the Dodgers' impressive young pitching ace, Hyun-Jin Ryu. He's compiled a record of 14-8 over the past season with a 3.00 ERA and 154 K's. He's only had one game started this past season against the Dodgers and it was a win. He did his best work on slugger Carlos Beltran, who went 0-3 against him. Meanwhile, Ryu may look to avoid Matt Holliday who was 2-for-3 against him.
For tonight's game, odds makers are giving the Cardinals the edge behind star pitcher Wainright. The lines are as high as -125 at Caesar's, with many other books offering around -115 or higher. The underdog home team carries a line of +100 to + 107 in many sports books. The over/under runs for the game is set at 6 1/2 total. Weather reports indicate sunny skies with a game temperature in the low 80's.
Start time for Monday's Cardinals vs. Dodgers game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST. The TBS channel will have the game for viewers on cable or satellite providers across the country. In addition, United States and Canadian fans can order the MLB's Postseason TV service for $4.99 to watch this game and the rest of the NLCS games live streaming online.
