The St. Louis Cardinals’ airplane has been delayed in St. Louis, according to a Fox Sports report on Tuesday. The Cardinals need to get back to Boston for the World series, but mechanical problems have delayed the baseball team’s air flight on Tuesday, according to Mike Matheny – the Cardinals’ manager.
Game 6 of the contest is Wednesday night. The Boston Red Sox are leading in the World Series by one game as the St. Louis Cardinals have won two games and the Boston Red Sox have won three so far.
Matheny reported that the baseball players had been on board the plane, sitting for a couple of hours. There was no word signifying exactly when the grounded airplane will be taking off. The team had not scheduled a workout for the day off from the contest. Additionally, the field got a good amount of rain in Boston as it rained all day there.
Michael Wacha, a scheduled starter for Game 6 on Wednesday for the Cardinals said the players had been watching movies on the plane and relaxing during the interrupted delay in their schedule.
