Head west to Saint Charles and Westport this weekend. The following antiquing and collectible events include fun for all ages:
The Great Train Expo
The Great Train Expo held in Saint Charles this weekend offers activities for all ages. More than 75 exhibitors display model railroads in varying scales and gauges. Some exhibitors provide ideas for building tracks while others allow visitors to operate the trains. Train enthusiasts may purchase pieces to add to model railroad collections.
The kids can enjoy rides on a train as well as the activities and contests offered by Radio Disney, which will be live at the event from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. Adults may also win contests and door prizes at the show. Workshops provide more in-depth information on various related topics.
According to The Great Train Expo website, the show travels to more states nationwide than any other train show. The show is held at the Saint Charles Convention Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $7 per adult that are good for both days. Anyone under 12 will receive free admission.
Gateway Mid-America Toy Show

This show provides opportunities to both purchase and sell toys in addition to other unique collectible items. Admission is $5 for anyone older than 11 and free for the younger audience.
