St. Elizabeth seeks new volleyball coach

WILMINGTON – My friends at St. Elizabeth High School passed along this note, and, well, I’m always willing to help out the Vikings. You can, too, if you are a high school volleyball coach.

The Vikings, coming off a 6-9 season, are seeking a new leader. According to the school, the goal of the coach is to “provide knowledge, motivation and leadership in an interscholastic sport in which students can excel to their full potential while competing in an atmosphere that adds to their total education, including their physical well-being, moral character and mental development.”

The coach is expected to provide the necessary leadership to plan, organize and accept responsibility for the program. He or she must carry out the objectives of the school mission and athletic program, including fair play, teamwork, a sense of confidence, and self-discipline.

The school is looking for someone with a demonstrated ability to manage a volleyball program, with previous experience as a coach or player. St. E’s prefers someone with experience in a high school setting. A letter of interest and a resume should be submitted to by April 15.
