St. Bona athletes post impressive 3.18 GPA

St. Bonaventure University student-athletes earned a Grade Point Average of 3.182 during the 2012 fall semester, with the softball program leading all 14 teams after posting an impressive overall squad GPA of 3.631.

More than two-thirds of SBU’s student-athletes finished the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 52 percent making the Dean’s List (3.25 GPA). Thirty-four percent had at least a 3.5 GPA, and nine student-athletes had a perfect 4.0.

Along with softball, the women’s cross country team (3.558) and the women’s tennis team (3.501) maintained an average GPA above 3.5. Golf, the highest-achieving men’s team, had a GPA of 3.429. Eleven of St. Bonaventure’s 14 teams maintained above a 3.0 GPA for the fall, and 12 had cumulative GPAs above 3.0. Men’s soccer posted a 2.995 GPA, with women’s basketball just behind at 2.856 and men’s basketball at 2.763.

The 3.182 average student-athlete GPA is higher than the St. Bonaventure student body GPA during the fall semester (3.07).
