St. Ann Police Officer resigns after threatening Ferguson protesters with Rifle

Last week, an unidentified Saint Ann Police Officer was videotaped with cell phones and by news cameras waving his assault rifle at protesters while mouthing off some colorful words. St. Ann Police Chief, Aaron Jimenez advised multiple news outlets that the offer, now identified as Lt. Ray Albers resigned from the police department on Thursday. The the incident occurred last Tuesday in the county of Ferguson where protesters were in uproar over the alleged racial motivated shooting of an unarmed teen, Michael Brown. Reportedly, the police officer was accused of aiming his assault rifle at protesters while threatening to kill them if they did not vacate the areas.

A Sgt. with the St. Louis County Police whose department was overseeing the municipalities in the area had to talk the officer down and walk him away from his the scene and his duties. The officer was later suspended pending an investigation. I suspect that his resignation was along the lines of, 'if you still want to have a future in law enforcement 'somewhere else' then you might want to resign now on your own terms....'
