SSD offers seminar on college preparation for students with special needs

The St. Louis Special School District is inviting parents, students, high school counselors and teachers to attend a workshop on college and other post-secondary options for students with disabilities. The presentation will focus primarily on students with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Participants will receive information about colleges, including the planning and research process, services available, legal rights, special admissions policies, ACT/SAT testing accommodations, and other information needed to help students make a successful transition to college. Information on other options, such as internships and training programs will be presented. Participants are encouraged to share information they have learned about specific colleges or programs.
