SSC Napoli took a huge hit on Sunday morning as the team lost to Atalanta BC at their adversary’s stadium. Despite the advantage of slightly dominating the game, Napoli lost 0-3 to Atalanta and their Argentinean attack.

As reported by ESPN Deportes on Sunday, Napoli did not find way to score against Atalanta at the Atleti Azzurri D’Italia Stadium. Napoli had all the stats to win the game, but failed to establish any goals.

The three goals scored by Atalanta were made by Argentine striker German Denis (47th and 64th minute) and by Argentine midfielder Maximiliano Morales (70th).

The loss against Atalanta was a huge hit as Napoli was trying to catch the Serie A leaders Juventus FC. The Naples team is now 12 points behind the leader, still sitting at third place; however, Juventus has a game to play this afternoon and could extend the lead even more.

The loss could also affect the momentum Napoli needed to face AS Roma on Wednesday for the Coppa Italia tournament. Roma is currently holding the second place position in Serie A and going strong, so the match on Wednesday, for SSC Napoli team, will be tough.
