On Monday afternoon in Serie A, SSC Napoli tied with Genoa CFC with a goal each. The tie was actually an upset for the Naples team, as they were favored to win, especially playing at home, and needed the three points to catch up to the leader, Juventus.

As reported by ESPN Deportes, Napoli lost the chance to gain three points with a last minute tie with Genoa. The team from Naples took the lead early in the game, but Genoa’s persistence ruined the victory dance for the home team.

The goal for SSC Napoli was scored by Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain in the 18th minute, while Genoa’s goal was scored by forward Emanuele Calaio in the 84th minute.

The tie leaves Napoli in third place of the Serie A table with no threat to be caught up by the fourth place team, Fiorentina, who still has to play round 25 and is six points behind.

As for Genoa CFC, they remain in 11th place with the spot secured, as teams around them have already played round 25.
