SR2 Motorsports adds to ownership group

NASCAR Nationwide Series team, SR2 Motorsports, announced on Wednesday that racer Derek White has joined the organization as a minority owner. He drove for the team in four races in 2012, posting a best finish of 18th on the road course of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

"I'm very excited to continue my relationship with SR² Motorsports," White said. "I enjoyed working with them last year and was very impressed with what they achieved in their first season. They've made several improvements in the off season and I'm glad that I can continue to be a part of the organization as it goes forward."

SR2 began competing in the Nationwide Series in 2012. During the offseason, the organization purchased the assets of longtime series competitor MacDonald Motorsports, expanding to a three-car team. Since joining the organization in an ownership role, White has secured sponsorship from HEADRUSH Apparel, with will be featured on the hood of the No. 00 driven by Jason White in Saturday's race at Phoenix International Raceway.

"We're very excited to have Derek White join our team in a larger role," team co-owner Jason Sciavicco said. "His experience will be very valuable to our organization. He's already made a tremendous contribution by bringing HEADRUSH Apparel on board as an SR² Motorsports partner. We're poised to have a terrific 2013 season and know that Derek will play a big part in that."
