Squeeze Every Drop Campaign Continues

Downtown Oklahoma City Waterworks have been instructed since January to retain the water conservation schedule usually only noted during Summer months. Climatologist, Gary McManus has noted the drought conditions have been present for about 3 years, but lack of expected rainfall over the past few changes of season, have perpetuated and exacerbated low water. Here is the federal map of current drought in Oklahoma http://climate.ok.gov/index.php/climate/map/u.s._drought_monitor_oklahom...

The odd even watering schedule was implemented in January due to sever drought and lack of rain or snow to replenish ground water. Both residential and business addresses are required to cooperate with this watering schedule, where approved watering for odd numbered addresses happens on odd numbered days. There is no burn ban in the state currently, though most of the summer and fall noone was allowed outdoor burning.

Newswoman, Katy Blakely of KOCO Channel 5 News noted this morning on TWITTER that there had been rainfall last night. Then in a TWITTER exchange with the weekend weather woman, Daniell Dozier, Blakely noted Dozier has predicted a couple of inches of snowfall this week, possibly on Tuesday.

Here is the National Weather Service listing for the next 7 days confirming same, with 70% snow possible on Tuesday day. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Oklahoma+City&state=OK...
