How's this for a celebration: according to Amelia Richmon, Squaw Valley PR, and Melissa Brouse, Alpine Meadows PR, the resorts will be giving away a pair of HEAD skis or a HEAD Snowboard every day of the Winter Olympic Games.

The games run from February 6 to February 23. That's 18 days, and 18 HEAD Skis or Boards that will be given to a lucky skier or boarder. It's part of what the resorts are calling the Sochi Daily Giveaway.

How do you get into the pool? Go to Squaw Valley's Facebook page. Submit one entry each day of the games, and keep your fingers crossed. The sweepstakes are open to the public, and winners will be announced daily. That's pretty fantastic. Squaw Valley hosted the 1960 Winter Games, and this is another way to honor that heritage.

Squaw Valley will also host Winter Games Viewing Parties from February 8 through the 18, and again on February 21. The viewing parties will take place at Rocker@Squaw, a rather awesome apres ski spot in the Village.

If you are there, you'll be in good company cheering on Team USA. Each night includes a raffle. GoPros, passes to yoga and other goodies are on the raffle list. Everyone receives a free raffle ticket when entering. This is separate from the ski and snowboard giveaway.

According to Richmond and Brouse, "Rocker@ Squaw's viewing parties are the perfect way to for the community to come together to support Team USA, which includes local athletes from Squaw Valley and the Tahoe region. Squaw Valley athletes, Julia Mancuso, Travis Ganong, and Nate Holland are each representing Team USA in their respective fields. Marco Sullivan, who is also a Squaw Valley athlete, is vying for a spot on Team USA; he will learn his fate this Sunday, Jan. 26."
