The snow gods are being good right now. Squaw Valley received over 5 feet of snow over the last 5 days, with Alpine Meadows reporting 42 inches, according to Amelia Richmond of Squaw Valley.

Richmond had this to say:

"With snow still coming down at the resorts, the mountains are expected to receive an additional three to seven inches by Wednesday morning. NOAA is forecasting light snow showers and cool temperatures throughout the rest of week, with sunny days projected for this Saturday and Sunday.

The recent five feet of snow and forecasted sunny skies could make this weekend one of the best weekends of the winter season, and Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows will be making the most of it with a full line-up of weekend events. Squaw Valley’s mountaintop hot tub will be the place to be this Saturday with a DJ pool party from 1-4 p.m. Over at Alpine Meadows, the recent snow means the Ice Bar will re-open with an on-mountain bash on the backside of the mountain on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Down at the base of Alpine Meadows, guests can check out Oakland funk/soul band The Grease Traps as part of the Spring Concert Series on the Alpine Meadows’ sundeck from 1-4 p.m."

Dress as a superhero this Saturday and Sunday and save $10 off a full-day lift ticket. It's part of an on-going spring themed weekend deal at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. Pass holders of any other ski resort can score $50 lift tickets this spring. Skiing at Squaw or Alpine, in these conditions, fresh powder all around, is epic all by itself. Throw in carving turns with costumed super hero's, and things just get better.
