Fans waiting patiently for the February 11, 2014 release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII can get a taste of the game now, as Square Enix has released a playable demo on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Not only will fans get to play a slice of the game early, they'll be able to pick up some perks if downloading it on the PlayStation Network.

Players who download the PSN demo will pick up the Utsusemi Garb DLC, which includes the Heavenly Fan weapon and the Kaminari shield item. The DLC downloads with the demo and will be unlocked in the full game on launch day. Those that do not get the DLC pack with the demo can purchase it later this year.

The demo itself lets you control Lightning as she makes her way through the Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow. Players will be able to check out Lightning’s new customization options and get adapted to the new battle system in the game.

As another bonus, those who activate the Outerworld services and submit their battle scores of the final fight against Zaltys will have the ‘Siegfried’ outfit unlocked in the game on launch day.

Are you ready to get your hands on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII? Will you be grabbing the demo or waiting for the full game to launch? Sound off in the comments below!
