Square Enix hiring for PS4 and Xbox 720 game development (Photos)

Square Enix has posted several more job offers in regards to their next-generation game development, which will most likely feature the PS4 and Xbox 720. According to a report by Now Gamer on Jan. 30, the company is looking seven specific openings, most of which has to do with animation, to join their Luminous Studio. You can check out some screens from the “Final Fantasy” tech demo that was created by the new studio, as well as some concept designs of the PS4 and Xbox 720, in the slideshow at the top of this article and the list of jobs below (courtesy of Now Gamer):

  • Animation architecture
  • Real-time IK and retargeting
  • Procedural animation
  • Facial animation
  • Soft-body animation
  • Animation approximation, compression
  • Animation database

Square Enix first unveiled the Luminous Studio at E3 2012. The development team is currently building a game engine that will support next-generation video games. The PS4 from Sony (a formal announcement will most likely be made on Feb. 20) and Xbox 720 from Microsoft are both expected to come out in North America by the end of 2013.
